Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo has thanked the people of Cross Rivers State for the warm welcome extended to him as he arrives the state on a one-day visit.
Osinbanjo who expressed his gratitude on his twitter handle @ProfOsinbajosaid, “Calabar, thank you so much for warmth and welcome”
The Acting Vice President further showed his joy with the posting of his pictures with students and people of Cross Rivers state.
Also, the Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayode has informed that Osinbajo who is in Calabar will be on hand to witness the achievements made so far in the two-year administration of his government, which includes an eponymous industrial park, a Convention Centre, Monorail and a Power plant.
He disclosed this in a statement released on Thursday.
According to him, the President’s presence is expected to douse the tension in the capital city generated by the recent face-off between the Navy and the police.
SundiataPost recalls that the Police and the Navy on Tuesday in the state, had a deadly clash which left at least three police officers dead, with two police officers and a naval officer injured.
The clash which was triggered by disagreement between Police traffic Officer and a naval officer at the trafficlight took place at Akim Neighbourhood, downtown Calabar.
Acting President Osinbajo will depart Cross Rivers State on Friday.
