The budget smartphones which was recently announced but yet to be released includes the HTC Desire 12 and 12 Plus. The former has lesser specs and does not offer much compared to its more premium siblings which is certainly more expensive. Design and Display

The HTC Desire 12 is a true definition of a refined sleek smartphone with almost bezel-less display and the widely used 18:9 aspect ratio. While this is attractive enough, it is also simplistic in its approach when it comes to design. There bezels at the top and bottom have been trimmed to create more space for the display.

Budget smartphones like the HTC Desire 12 does not have much to offer in terms of colourful display. You have a 5.5-inch screen with 1440 X 720 pixels display with pixel density of 293 ppi. While this not as rich as you have in premium smartphones but it is sort of the norm in budget ones.

Battery and Camera

Not many budget smartphones have much power when it comes to battery capacity. Neither does the HTC Desire 12 with only a non removable 2, 730mAh Li-ion battery to go by. As a budget smartphone, it also lacks the quick charge feature seen in more premium smartphones.

Also, the smartphone is armed with a single camera on both the front and back. There is a 5MP selfie camera with a wide angle feature and a 13MP rear camera with flash for taking clear pictures in not well lit areas.

Hardware and Software

On the inside, the smartphone comes with low budget MediaTek chipset. However, this is enough for day to day tasks and runs fairly smooth. All this is taken care of by a Quad-core MediaTek MT6739 CPU accompanied by a PowerVR GE8100 GPU for gaming and all that as to will do with graphics rendering.

Things does not end there as you also have a 2GB and 3GB RAM variant each having a 16GB and 32GB built-in storage respectively. Both variant’s storage space can be expanded up to 128GB with a memory card and also runs Android 8.0 Oreo straight from the box.

There’s no specific date and price yet for the smartphone but is likely to cost about €150 which is approximately 67, 000 naira.
