Cloud Exchange To Build First Tier IV Data Center

Cloud Exchange West Africa, a virtual computing and end to end IT solutions company, has announced its receipt of Uptime Institute Certification for Tier IV data center design.

The announcement was made after Cloud Exchange went through the rigorous process of fulfilling all tier IV fault tolerant criteria.

The development comes as Cloud Exchange progresses its plans to launch a data center in Lagos by mid-2018.

Uptime Institute is a global professional organisation recognised for providing an unbiased advisory standard on improving the performance, efficiency, and reliability of business-critical infrastructure through innovation, collaboration, and independent certifications.

Uptime Institute is the IT industry’s most trusted and adopted global standard for the proper design, build and operation of data centers – the backbone of the digital economy.

Cloud exchange recognises that to design, manage, and operate the critical infrastructure that a business depends on, it is critical to have the most authoritative, evidence-based, and unbiased guidance.

Uptime Institute has certified over 1000 leading data center facilities worldwide for design, construction, management, and operations against the Tier Standards – serving as the client’s trusted partner in ensuring their facilities and operations meet key business objectives.

Although there are a number of Data center services providers in the country today, only four out of them are Tier III certified data centers. Cloud Exchange will be the first to build a Tier IV Data Centre not only in Nigeria, but also across the West and Central African region.

“Our ambition is to be the digital hub for all sub-Saharan Africa, excluding southern Africa,” the company states.
